Dear BRC family,
Attached please find this year’s meeting announcement. It has all the pertinent dates and info you need to make your hotel reservations and submit an abstract. There is a possibility that some grant monies may become available to supplement the meeting expenses, but we won’t know until sometime in October. The student registration fee has been lowered due a generous donation from the 2008 international meeting’s organizers. We thank them for that support. I have included additional info about the presentations and abstracts below. Do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or for additional information. Take care, Sue
Presentation and Abstract Submission:
Both oral and poster submissions are invited. The oral format will be informal, with a strict time limit of 15 minutes per presentation (12 minutes for the talk and 3 minutes for questions and discussion); PowerPoint presentations are preferred as a slide projector will not be available. Laptop computers will be needed on which to load the presentations. Backboards (4’H by 8’W) will be set up for the poster sessions (bring tacks, please). Depending on the number of talks submitted, the Committee may have to ask some researchers to consider the poster format rather than an oral presentation.
If you plan to discuss your current research or have a poster, the deadline for submitting a title to me is Friday, October 23, 2009 (indicate if you prefer an oral presentation or a poster). My e-mail address is shagius@agcenter.lsu.edu . If you wish your abstract to be compiled for distribution at the meeting, an electronic copy should be submitted by the same date if at all possible. Please send it as a Word attachment (PC version) or as a .rtf file.
Please remember to designate if you wish to present a talk or a poster. Your abstract should begin with the title of the presentation, then the authors, followed by their affiliations, the corresponding author’s email address, and the text describing your work. Please do not type any of it entirely in upper case. If you need an example, I will gladly send you one.
In an effort to avoid shipping the programs to Chicago at the last minute, I will have to ask that you adhere to the deadlines for abstract submission. I appreciate your consideration in this matter.
